KAL Olympics

2012 is an amazing year for British sports. The London 2012 Games continue to highlight the importance of sport and the positive role it can play, not only in terms of fitness but it also teaches other great qualities .
To celebrate this great year Kirklees Active Leisure (KAL) have hosted various challenges, offered free sport taster sessions and have even held their very own KAL Games which proved to be very successful, BUT we still want people to get involved in sports and keep active.

KAL Games 2012 - 29th April – 19th August 2012
Kirklees Active Leisure hosted their very own games this year which featured 10 of the 26 sports in the London 2012 Olympics. The KAL Games ran from April through to August and some events proved so popular that we are looking to make them annual events, so look our for the KAL Mountain Bike Challenge and the Disability Games next year!

Paralympic Games 2012
The final closing ceremony was amazing as were the results for Team GB. The Games have truly been an inspiration to us all and we hope the legacy of sport continues and encourages our budding athletes of the future to take it up professionally or for fun.
